Do This in Memory of Me Programme

As part of the parish formation programme for First Holy Communion, it was decided to initiate the DO THIS IN MEMORY series of masses for children in second class and their parents. These masses ensure that the parish, along with both the home and school play its part in the children's preparation in the months leading up to that important day, all  within the context of the Sunday parish celebration.  These masses have a large input from the parents, all of whom give of their time freely, to meet and arrange the next months mass. These meetings take place in St. Marys room. The members of the organizing committee are; Mairead Hand, Geraldine Horan, Ciaran Lahitt, Catherine Spence, Ruth Magrane, Pamela Gill, Gilly Maguire, Mary Foran, Catherine Davis, Helena Davis, Jennifer Foley, Samantha Long, Maria Nolan, Avril Fanning and Joan Hess.

The boys and girls who are are making First Holy Communion this year and their parents commit to attending 7 special Sunday masses (6 before First Communion and one after). The children also have a special dedicated prayer space in the church. Dates for remaining masses this year are 12 February 2012, 11 March 2012, 22 April 2012, Sat 19 May (11.30) First Holy Communion, 10 June 2012. All masses are at 12.30 PM except for the First Holy Communion mass.
